Fashion Show - Five Star Outfit - Fun Theme

In Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, you can hold fashion shows and walk on the catwalk as a model. There are a variety of fashion show themes to choose from and once you have sold enough tickets to hold the show, you get to choose the outfit you wish to wear in the show as well as your make-up and hairstyle.

At the end of each fashion show, the game awards you a rating out of five based on how well your overall outfit matched the theme of the show. For a detailed guide on themes and taking part in fashion shows, please refer to the Fashion Show guide. The game does not give you hints at what specific style will fit the theme and bases your final score on how well your outfit, hairstyle and makeup matches the theme. Multiple styles fall under each category and you need to pick the one you feel best matches the theme.

This guide will look an outfit that received a five star rating under the fun category. The theme for this fashion show was a summer outfit that is bright and more fun than the sun and was the orange bubble theme icon on the theme menu screen. The venue used was the fifth venue on the venue list which is the yellow hued one.

Now for the outfit. The clothing items used to create this outfit were:
  • Streetflow - Uniform Number T-Shirt (Yellow)
  • Streetflow - Kitty Cat Parka (Yellow/Blue)
  • Streetflow - Number Bottoms (Blue)
  • April Bonbon - Fuzzy Basketball Shoes (Blue/Yellow)

The hairstyle used is the Messy updo with the M-Shaped Fringe with the colour Banana as the main colour and Sunflower Yellow for the highlights. The make-up set used was the Toybox Central set with the default colours (no adjustments made to the set).

After selecting ok after the outfit menu screen, Laurie provided a hint that the outfit fitted the fun theme of the fashion show. Next it was time to hit the catwalk! Here's some screenshots of my character modelling the five star outfit. Be sure the click the effects buttons when taking part in fashion shows as they help hype up audience interest.

Time to see the final score. The outfit fitted perfectly with the fun theme and received five stars. The tricky part with achieving five star outfits is matching the hair and make-up to the theme. A good tip is to pick make-up sets with a good colour palette and match the feel/colour of your clothing items.

After this, Ricky and Laurie will talk to your about your performance. If you have an outfit that is 3 stars or higher, they will usually give you praise. Other NPC's will appear as well giving you feedback about your outfit. Ricky will appear afterwards and give you a miniature item as a gift. You do not receive a special miniature for achieving five stars.

It's taken a while to get five stars in the fun category. When I first started playing the game, I got five stars a few times but that was before I was recorded the information. There was a number of failed attempts at getting five stars, but I found once I started using the sporty themed items I was getting closer to five stars. Here's some pictures of outfits that didn't work. There were many more than these, mainly around three or four star ratings.
