Designer Lounge Request Guide

In Style Boutique 2/Style Savvy 3, you can take on the role of a fashion designer. Once you have unlocked the Designer Lounge in Taylor Arcade, brand representatives will request for you to design a clothing item for their brand. You will need to visit the Designer Lounge on certain days to unlock the design request. Many design requests repeat themselves as they occur on multiple days and you can deny the requests if you are not interested.

If you are unsure on how to complete design request, check out my handy guide to commission requests here. To see pictures of each design, please visit my Designer Lounge Requests Picture Guide. A guide on where each pattern and design can be unlocked can be found in the Pattern and Designer Location Guide.

The first column of the guide details which days you can visit the Designer Lounge to unlock the request. The next column identifies which brand the request is for and then the type of item requested. The base pattern column defines what pattern the base of the design must be and the colour column states what the colour of the base must be. Same with the decoration pattern column and decoration colour. For example the first row shows that if you visit the Designer Lounge on Monday, Tuesday or Friday, the Marzipan Sky representative will request for you to design a t-shirt. The t-shirt must have a dot pattern for the base and be black. If you do not use the correct design details, the representative will request for you to complete it again. Some designs allow for you to choose your own pattern if the brand representative mentions it.

To unlock new base patterns and decoration patterns, the brand representative will give you a hint on a location to visit to unlock the pattern. For example, to unlock the flowers pattern, the representative suggests you visit the Rose Garden. Talk to an NPC there to unlock the pattern. It’s pretty simple as you get a hint on exactly where to visit.

Two requests only occur during the main storyline of the game. These are the Brooke Bridge request for a shirt and the Enid Chen request for a dress for a wedding dress.

Happy designing!!

  1. Can you sell your own design in your shop or is it just the ones you design for the brands?

    1. You can only sell the items you design for brands in your Boutique. The items you designed in free design are available to wear in your own wardrobe and you cannot sell them.

  2. I've been visiting the lounge daily and I still can't unlock requests for bags and boots! Am I missing something?

    1. There's a trick to this. You can refuse to do a request if you have already done it. I just kept visiting the Designer Lounge over and over again until I got each one (kept a list with me so I can check which ones I wanted).

    2. Well, still no go. Is there some clock ticking before this can be unlocked? Either logged game time or required season/time of day? Or some minimum amount of commissions? It doesn't make sense that I still can't get any new types of requets

    3. If you have unlocked the Designer Lounge, you should be able to access all the design requests. Maybe visit each day for a week and see if you unlock new designs. A good trick is to just accept all requests and see if new ones pop up. I was able to accept over 6 requests at once. Try visiting the Lounge for a week and see what happens.

  3. Just keep exiting and re-entering an unknown amount of times and you will unlock these last 2, I should know it took me ages to do this.

    1. Agreed. Took me ages to get the last Raven Candle bag one.

  4. How do you get designs? I know people are saying you have to do commissions, but there are never any no matter what I do?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You need to complete certain commissions from brand representatives. For example, the Brooke Bridge Representative asks you to make a tshirt with a check design which you do not have unlocked. She will then give you a hint for where to unlock this design. Same with the clothing items, if you never designed shoes before, visit the Designer Lounge on a day that has a shoe request to unlock it. Check out the Designer Lounge Guide to Commission Requests for more information.

  6. Is there any way to design pants or jackets, or even normal long sleeved shirts? I really wish they gave you more to do in the design section, especially the free design part. I was expecting something more like Animal Crossing.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You can design items like these in the special section. These items include Shirt, Sleeveless Sailor Shirt, Camisole, Corset, Waistcoat, Blazer and Sleeved Sailor Top. And the bottoms are limited to Mini Skirt, Maxi Skirt, Shorts and Tutu.
Yes, it would be great if there was more customisation like in the Animal Crossing games but I think the game is limited with the designs it can handle.
I've made a guide with pictures of all the shirts and bottoms you can design, so check out the Design Patterns guide.

  7. Hi! I need some help unlocking the designer mode. I have all the brands, I completed the third fashion show, and now have over 50000.00 in profits. Can anyone clarify what I need to do to open this option up?

    1. To unlock the Designer Lounge feature, Evie should visit your Boutique and it will trigger the event to talk to her at the Cafe. Talk to her and it should unlock the option.

  8. I'm sorry if this was explained but what do the hearts stand for?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The hearts are a symbol to show what days the request is available. For example the first request has hearts showing the days to visit are Mon, Tues and Fri. Hope this helps, I just used hearts instead of circles for fun :)

  9. Hi! Do you know if there's a way to get more slots in your Portfolio? Is like to keep all of the designs since deleting the designs seems to delete them from your wardrobe as well....But there seem to be more commissions than slots.

    Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There is no way to get more slots in your portfolio, the game is limited to a certain amount. There is more commission than slots and then add on your own personal designs and there is definitely not enough room. Unfortunately you do need to delete designs and it does delete them from your wardrobe, boutique and if a customer is wearing it.

      Delete
    2. Ah, thank you so much! It's too bad that we can't have all of the commissions at once :/ I guess I'll just have to pick my favorites, lol, or just delete designs when I'm tired of them.

      Thank you again!

  10. What do the heart outlines and full hearts mean? Clearly one indicates one thing, and the other another, but I don't see anything on this page saying what.

      Delete
    2. I understand that. But there are TWO kinds of hearts. One just an outline, one full. Surely they must mean slightly different things, or else it'd just be all the same kind of heart.

      Delete
    3. They mean the same thing. I just made them different colours so you could distinguish between the rows.

  11. I tried to unlock the 6th designer card in my last game, and I already completed half of the preppy girl's uniform request! When can I complete the second half of the request? And also, the girl didn't have pigtails, she had a side ponytail!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. To unlock all the options in the 6th designer card, you need to complete all the requests as the special options in this card are unlocked at different times.
When completing requests, you should be able to complete the entire request at once. There may not be a second half of the request.

      Delete
  12. To anyone trying to unlock the top and bottoms set, those are unlocked by story quest only. Try going to Bun-Bun Funland to get started. I was baffled by this for a long time, since the above guide says Brook Bridge commissions a shirt in the story, when in reality they request a uniform.

    1. Oh hey, I now found a storyline commission from Purple Moon. There was a sparkly npc convo in Bun Bun FUnland again, and then a sparkly appeared over the designer lounge. Eliza wants a camisole and shorts. So I guess there's more story commissions than you thought. :o

      Delete
    2. Those commissions should appear during the main storyline of the game (they did for me). You can unlock the Purple Moon one via the Designer Lounge.

      Delete
    3. Mine appeared post-game. Interesting.

      Delete
    4. You'd said that you unlocked the Purple Moon commission after you completed the main story. What do you know about the wedding dress request? DOes that come during the main storyline or is that post-game as well?

      Delete
    5. The wedding dress appeared during the main story line of the game for myself. Adelaide appeared at my boutique (from what I remember as this was ages ago) and told me she was getting married. Then you will get a request for the wedding dress. Japanese guides list the wedding dress event as a main story line event.

      Delete
  13. For some reason, I've only been getting requests for t-shirt commissions...am I doing something wrong?

I've done the "final" fashion show where the credits roll. I haven't gotten the wedding dress request yet. The only "premium" vendors on the 3rd floor I have are Enid Chen and Chorale Prelude.

    Thanks for any help!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Try accepting the request and completing it. Then head back to the Designer Lounge to see if new ones appear. You should be able to see all the requests available that day.

You may have to wait until Laurie visits asking to open more brands because that floor should have Enid Chen, Chorale Prelude, Chorale, Brooke Bridge and Arianna. The top floor has the Purple Moon Brand.

      Hope this helps :)

  14. Regarding the uniform commission, was I supposed to get that before I did the 3rd fashion show?

    1. Hi! Been over a year since I've played the main story line so I can't recall when it happens but I think it's sometime towards the end of the story line. You should get it as a request from the designer lounge during the main story line so keep checking back there. Or at Bun-Bun Funland as that is where the students hang out.

      Delete
    2. Yesterday, I went to Bun-Bun Funland but couldn't find the students with the sparkle. I read on GameFaqs that the students can be found on Monday because the amusement park offers a student discount that day. Do you know if that's true or not?

Also, I believe that to unlock the wedding dress commission in the main story line, I have to have unlocked Enid Chen and keep visiting the Designer Lounge until the brand rep for the line comes in. What do you think?

      Delete
    3. Not sure if that's true or not, I think it's just a joke in the game really about the student day.

The wedding dress is part of the main story line. It will appear when Adelaide tells you she is getting married which I think she does when she visits your Boutique. As I said, it's been ages since I played the main story line part so my memory isn't so good

  15. I noticed that some of the hearts used to show what days commissions are available are hollow, but others are filled in. What does that mean?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The hearts are a symbol to show what days the request is available. For example the first request has hearts showing the days to visit are Mon, Tues and Fri. There's no difference between the hollow and filled in, it's just something I usually do to help recognise lines. Hope this helps, sorry for the confusion.

  17. I was wondering how to unlock the Party Dress for the wedding request from Enid Chen. Please help. I jave 6 days

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. To unlock the wedding dress dress, Adelaide should visit your Boutique with her fiance and she will ask you to design the dress. You should have the Designer Lounge unlocked before this.

      Delete
    2. But she already got married and i already designed her dress with one of the default dresses

      Delete
    3. That should be correct then, you design her dress from one of the dress options available.
If you are trying to unlock the party dress (which is the mini dress), that is a Purple Moon request.

  19. Marzipanini, there's a forum on GameFAQs that explains what you do towards the end of the game:

    http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/764719-style-savvy-fashion-forward/73170669

It says that after the third fashion show, you make the wedding dress for Adelaide, and attend the wedding. I'm guessing that's also when you complete the uniform commission because it says "revamp the school uniform". What do you think of that statement?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The final task in the main story line of the game is the 3rd fashion show. This was the last event in the main story line for myself and Japanese guides list that as the final event as well.
It's been so long since I played the main story line of the game (completed it November 2015). I did complete the wedding dress request and the school uniform during the main story line but I only think that was because I played the game like crazy to find every feature I could complete.

  20. I finally got the uniform commission! I just completed the third fashion show, and after the credits, the sparkly icon appeared over the Designer Lounge. When I clicked on it, Erika from Brooke Bridge was there asking me to design a school uniform, and I accepted! I guess the US version works differently than the European version, huh?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Great to hear! I think the US version is pretty similar as they didn't change much. It's just been ages since I played the main story line so it's hard to remember what order things were in. I played through it so quickly as well.

  21. I never got the uniform and I completed the 3rd show ages ago. Is there a way to still get it?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm not 100% sure, but try visiting the Designer Lounge often to see if it pops up or it may appear at Bun-Bun Funland. Been a while since I did the request, so I don't recall exactly how I did it.

      Delete
    2. Yes, you must complete all of the other requests, except the special ones, and school girls should show up to bun-bun funland. A girl named chetna will come in to your boutique, after you serve her (make sure you say Try it on!), she will thank you and leave. Go to bun-bun-funland, then you will see chetna talking to her friend. After you talk to them, go to the design lounge, where erika will ask for a uniform. Hope this helps! -M

      Delete
    3. Nice tip! I had a similuar question a few months ago and turns out the school girls wouldn't appear until a certain time for that player. So try visiting different times if they don't appear.

    1. Go through the list of the requests and figure out which one you haven't done. Then visit the Designer Lounge on the day needed for it to unlock it. Took me forever to get my last request of the Raven Candle one.

    2. I'm missing the one for the uniform it seem but I've already beaten the game as far as I know! I would hate to restart but that seems like the only option right now...

  25. I can't seem to get the corset and tutu commission, or any of the uniform commissions! I've tried going to the designer lounge multiple times but it doesn't work. The only commissions I get are for t-shirts, dresses, bags, shoes, and tights. I've already completed the main storyline of the game and I've completed multiple fashion shows. What am I doing wrong? Is it given at a certain time of the day or specific season? Please help!

    ReplyDelete

    1. The requests are day specific. The days that the requests are available are marked with the hearts on the table. Try visiting Tuesday and Saturday for the tutu one.

    2. I found the guide, but I mean I can't even get the job to do the dress with the heart lace. :( I got the wedding dress job and went to meadow walk then to get it, didn't get it. Read your one guide and realized oops, need a different job for it, and I can't get it to give me the option for that dress or pattern. I've almost thought of just restarting my game in case I missed it somehow or had a game breaking glitch.

    2. I have not been able to get any commissions for bottoms or a skirt of any sort and have been playing for about two and a half months and have been looking at your chart for about two and a half weeks wondering if I'm missing something or doing something wrong......any ideas?

      Delete
    3. Is your designer portfolio full maybe? You cannot accept new requests if there is no space to store the designs.
Are you checking the designer lounge on the right days? Because the bottoms/skirt requests are available on different days and then you go to the location with the stars to unlock the design.

      Delete
    4. No sadly I have made sure to go to the designer lounge after finishing my requests every time because I get five or six at once none are bottoms though my schedule is a little crazy so I'm in the designer lounge at around 2 am everyday and go back every three to four hours to try and get more but I accept all the ones they give me and finish them I'm in there a minimum of three times a day more if I show up and get Laurie a lot........

    8. So are you missing any now? Sometimes I had to take a break from the designer lounge as there was this one request I could not unlock.
If you are still having trouble triggering them, people say of you talk to every NPC in the city and train locations, it can trick the game into activating events you haven't unlocked yet.

    10. Thank you so much for your help it took doing so three or four times but I finally got the scene with chetna and svetlana and the commission for blazer and skirt which unlocked skirts for me

    11. Yay I'm happy some of the requests finally unlocked for you. There seems to be some sort of glitch with the blazer/skirt requests as some players can easily get it but others struggle for ages. Players of all games versions (Japan, EUR/AUS and NA) all had this issue so it wasn't just you.
If you are still missing any, just keep trying on the days to unlock them. It took myself like 2 months to get the Raven Candle bag one which was the last one I needed.

    13. I'm only missing shirt and tie waistcoat and bottoms and the sailor shirt requests

      Delete
    14. Well for those you just need to first accept the request when it's available and then visit the location stated in the guide to unlock the design. It will take some patience to unlock all the designs.

      Delete
    15. I wanted to let you know for your guide but you don't need the pattern or accessory to be requested to unlock it during the time I was talking to everyone trying to get the requests to pop up I started seeing the star symbol everywhere and succeeded in obtaining all the scarf tie and bow items before I had the requests to use them on

      Delete
    16. You do need the design to be requested by someone at the Designer Lounge first so the pattern can be unlocked as most patterns you do not have by default and need to be found by 'inspiration'. This guide details all locations where patterns located and this is the method how I found all my designs.
I believe what you encountered is just what happens with the accessory items is that they can be found a few different locations because they aren't major designs. All the other ones need to be found at certain locations.

      Delete
    17. Well I am not sure then because I got the other shirt styles all before getting thier requests in the "special" design card I got the request for the uniform for the unhappy student and then all the shirts bottoms and accessories before any other requests for said items......

    18. Are you playing Style Savvy by any chance because I know some players have had things unlock in different ways to Style Boutique/Girls Mode 3. Not sure exactly why, I've just had people mention it to me.

    1. You don't need to unlock that one through a specific request. I believe it becomes available automatically at some point. Try doing all the tights requests, the Chorale Boots request or the Brooke Bridge Blazer one (as those unlock the lace for other items).

Sorry for the vague answer, it's been a while since I did any designer lounge stuff but I do know that it doesn't have a specific location. I think it unlocked at the start for me or as I did the requests I listed.

  33. Hello Marzipanini! I've never commented here before, but I wanted to say THANK YOU for this wonderful Style Savvy resource. It's really helped in expanding my enjoyment of the game (as well as provided invaluable information for completing some of the trickier tasks).

I DID have a question concerning the Designer Lounge, as I couldn't find it addressed in the guide or throughout the comment section. Is there some sort of "reward" or "final item" received for completing ALL of the Designer Lounge requests? I say that because the requests are repeatable (I myself was stuck on a Brooke Bridge uniform loop for some four requests in a row), so the Designer Lounge in effect "never ends." Is there any in-game indication of completing ALL the brand designs or just the general satisfaction of having persevered? (I myself care mostly about unlocking all the available design patterns).

    Thanks much!!

    1. Thank you for visiting my blog and I'm happy to hear it helped you out! :)

As for completing all the requests, there isn't a reward or final item. Nothing special happens once you complete them all. They basically just repeat themselves forever then. Once you've completed all the requests listed in the guide, that's all there is.

  34. Okay, good to know. I'm a MAJOR completionist (as it pertains to unlockables) when it comes to my video games, so I wanted to double-check there wasn't some exclusive item I might be missing out on in case I decide not to full with one or two of the requests.

    Thanks again!!

    1. Argh! Sorry Marzipanini! I'm the "Unknown" post from January 15. When I first tried commenting here it wouldn't show my Google profile. But it does now. And then I tried replying to your reply and...*sigh*.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks again and sorry for all the random "Unknown" posts. All the "Kimberly" comments are me. ^^

    2. No problem. I could figure it was you by the content of the comment. Yeah, blogger has some trouble letting people post under their profiles occasionally.

The game doesn't really have any achievements or rewards for completing stuff so players don't have to fuss to much with things. The requests are so annoying when they repeat though, took me ages to get the final one I needed.

  37. First off, thank yoyyfor making this handy guide!

Second, please tell me what I need to do in order to unlock the tutu option in Designer Lounge? I have completed multiple commissions, as well as multiple fashion shows.

    1. In order to unlock the tutu option, you need to complete the Purple Moon request that is available on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

  40. Okay, so I've read all of the above comments, but I am still unsure about how to unlock the other items beside T-shirts and dresses, can you only unlock the other items during the gameplay? If that is the case, does that mean I have to restart my game? Is it possible to unlock these items after winning the game? I have the Australian version. Thanks a heap! Love this blog!

    1. Nope, you cannot unlock the designer requests after the main story line as been completed. Took me ages to get them all and was way after I finished the main game. I wouldn't worry about resetting your game, they'll show up eventually. I have the Australian Versions as well and it took me ages to get the final Raven Candle one.

Thanks for visiting my blog!! Nice to see a fellow Aussie!

  41. So, I will be able to get them even though I've finished main story line? I have managed to unlock the uniforms and all that comes in the special category, just not the tights, boots or the bags. Thanks!!

No problem, this is by far the best one I've read on style boutique! Yeah, Aussie's unite! ;)

    1. Oops I'm so sorry I had a few spelling errors in my comment. Yes you can still unlock requests after the main storyline. I had to wait ages to get the last one I needed.
Sorry about the confusion, I often write things without checking them :(

    2. No problem, thanks for the clarification! I'll let you know when/if I unlock them all :D!

  42. The yellow decoration dress doesn't have to be a mini dress. It can be any dress shape
